Only once every four years a special Olympian comes along who dazzles the world with raw talent, charisma, God given ability and “poise” that is awful hard to understand…
My Olympic MVP is only fifteen years old. I’m not sure if it’s the age or the incredible “poise” that fascinates me most. To be able to dominate a sport and be among the best in the world as a sophomore in high school blows me away…
…But the “poise” at that age on an International stage…in front of BILLIONS worldwide…is remarkable. Period.
Shawn Johnson, in my opinion, stole the show…and did it with class and a smile that not only never left her face, but melted the world…
I bet you thought I’d say Michael Phelps, huh?
He may be the best Olympian ever, clearly, but he came in as the favorite to win these medals and has dominated his sport for quite some time now.
Shawn is a “kid” who may not even have her driver’s license…yet took home 3 medals, made it look easy under immense pressure, on the BIGGEST stage in the world, and never stopped smiling…even once. Oh, and she’ll be home in time for her first day of high school next week…
…Unbelievable.
